Hotel Quality and Student Rooming
HOTEL QUALITY & LOCATION
Standard hotels are tourist class accommodations typically located near public transportation and are within 45 minutes travel time to a major tourist attraction. All hotels offer clean, safe and comfortable rooms with private bathrooms and are 2-3 star hotels (according to European standards).
Standard Central hotels offer similar accommodations to our Standard Quality, but are located closer to the city center, and are within 20 minutes travel time to a major tourist attraction. Your group will enjoy a shorter commute to tourist attractions, but please bear in mind that due to their location and age, these hotels often provide less floor space and are situated in livelier neighborhoods.
Upgrade hotels are centrally located and within 20 minutes travel time to a major tourist attraction. They typically offer more amenities, desk service and are generally 3-4 star hotels (according to European standards). All rooms have private bathrooms.
STUDENT ROOMING
While on tour, 3-4 students of the same gender will be sharing a room. For teacher-led tours, the Group Leaders will assign these roommates. Hotel rooms are furnished with either single or double beds; single beds sleep just one person and double beds may be shared.

Food, Dining, and Dietary Restrictions
Explorica provides breakfast and dinner daily on all tours (unless otherwise indicated on your itinerary). Participants have lunch breaks and free-time to explore their own local food options.
BREAKFAST
European-style breakfast is offered every morning and will always include juice, cereal, bread (like toast, croissant, or pastry), and coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, as well as either cheese, eggs, yogurt, fruit, or meat.
DINNERExplorica chooses restaurants that appeal to students while also providing them with a taste of local cuisine. By providing both familiar fares with regional foods, students are given the opportunity to try new things without inducing culture shock!
DIETARY RESTRICTIONSBe sure to remind your Tour Director and Group Leader of any dietary restrictions or food allergies you have at the beginning of your tour. We will do our best to work around your dietary restrictions but please be aware that we cannot absolutely control the cuisine. We recommend that you pack some snacks for any times there may be difficulty accommodating your food restrictions.
